Accommodation was at the Athletes’ Village, two to a room and lucky me had a room to myself. The commute was a lot shorter and the Whistler venues a short bus ride on the days one wasn’t on duty. Highway 99 was open to the regular traffic and there was less hoopla.

The variable conditions certainly put the competitors’ technical crews to the test. Practicing target shooting for the biathlon portion on that very rainy Tuesday was also no picnic.
