Prototype

Built by SWS (Schlieren) in 1930 this car was originally assigned to the Engadine Express of the 1930s.

Part of the 1:50 plan that I received from SWS prior to them “cleaning out” their archives.

Bashing Action

This started out as a Bachmann Combine kit which seemed to have the approximately “correct” dimensions i.e. less work to kitbash. Along with trucks that also seemed close enough. Such was the naïvety back in 1999/2000.

Adding a new shell on top of the existing shell brought the dimensions reasonably close. The window and door openings were cut on the milling machine and filed if required.

And then the project went dormant .... until we had a laser in the shop.
