Find of the day

Postby HJM » Mon Feb 11, 2019 8:00 pm

With all the "stuff" I got from Turi there was a ARWICO mag included. Reading it I noticed some Haflinger models — that's the perfect vehicle for the formers in the Grisons.
Next stop, would there be a STL file of the critter? Sure enough not only that but it comes in all kinds of different file versions.
Not the most detailed but it's a start..... and it's free!

BTW this is the place where I discovered the capricorn model and a few other things.

Finally found some figures that could be used in everyday scenes.

First one is printing, picture to follow.

OK

It still needs to be cleaned up, but it's a good start. Intended location? The American and other Muscle Cars Meet at Seedorf. ;) ;)

Some cool stuff there.
I'm eagerly waiting for you to do the ice-cream sundae in 1:22.5 - you have to have dessert after pizza, right?

There is a new company in the UK that does a good range of G scale (and other sizes) figures.

https://hardyshobbies.co.uk/product-category/g-scale/

They are looking for other ideas for future figures, I'll be suggesting a carpenter and a blacksmith.

I've had a couple of bespoke figures from them, they are well done, just add paint.

More 1:22.5 figures in the works. I vary their size a bit, a few % up or down on the scaling does a nice job. Haven't tried to "fatten" them, yet.

Cruising through the wares on CGT I happened to see some files (collections) of all kinds of "Stuff". 20 sets of good stuff.
I imported the STL into SketchUp, resized a shipping box to scale and as soon as it's done I'll post a picture.

While I'm "up there" skiing SWMBO went grocery shopping.
Find of the day? The Ferrero chocolates with the "perfect" boxes were on sale.
She bought five (5)! Since skiing ends on the 7th of April I better get cleaning the bikes to be able to burn off those calories.

Found a file for a chamois. B-)

I'll let you know how well it will print without having supports all over the place.
