Not quite on that scale but taken the plunge and pre-ordered an Anycubic Photon Mono X at a decent price as it has a build volume that looks usable for my needs. It seems to get better reviews than the Elegoo Saturn I was tempted by originally Hope to see it Q4 2020. Says they will ship after 25th October.

I'd suggest a small one with which success is almost a given, but you get to admire the finish.

Quite organised now - need to read some instructions and do test piece.....

Interesting comparison, the photon build plate is about 2/3 the size of the Ultimaker plate and its very rare I use anything like all that area, just for buildings.

From what I read the new X is considerably faster than the smaller Photon; could be interesting to run a test cube for times and finish comparisons to the Ultimaker.

Will do - just need to get to grips with Chitabox first as the software slicer with the Mono X has not impressed me so far. How do you come up with asymmetric supports for a symmetrical object??? Being naive I trusted to their judgement - wrong - old maxim - if it looks wrong, there is a good chance it is wrong. My biggest learning point so far, and I am now expert at, it is cleaning crap from the resin tank.

Test prints they included looked great though!

What is interesting so far is that the print time is in direct relation to the number of layers regardless of the objects complexity, with the Ultimaker, print time is a function of the complexity of each layer determined by the path the print head has to follow.
